Why wasn’t more of this game shown at E3?
Unbeknownst to me, Baldo had been previously announced by Naps Team and somehow it flew completely undetected on my radar.
It is an action-adventure RPG fashioning a stunningly beatiful cel-shaded art-style. Baldo clearly draws inspiration form Studio Ghibli films with many of the artistic choices can be linked back to a number of Miyazaki films. And judging from what we’ve seen there is a touch of Zelda thrown in as well. For first impression goes, Baldo is shaping up nicely to be a fantastic game.
It would be a crime for a game with potential to go unnoticed, thankfully, Nintendo has uploaded the announcement trailer alongside with a few details about the game.
The overview and trailer of the game can be found down below:
The prophecy came true, the pure child is born. The no heart creature sealed in the underworld by the wise owls is about to rise again. The game is set in the world of Rodia, a journey into a magical land full of mysteries to discover. Baldo is an action adventure rpg, full of puzzles and intricate dungeons to solve. Traveling around the world, Baldo will interact with many weird and funny characters scattered everywhere, to complete the main story quest and many other side quests. You’ll travel into an open world map discovering new towns and people, fighting enemies, locating hidden temples and collecting objects to get new weapons or items to use.
No release date has been given for Baldo, so stay tuned for more updates.
