Biggest megaton of E3
Saving the best and biggest announcement to last, Nintendo has revealed that a direct sequel to arguably one of the greatest games of all time – The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – is indeed in the works for the Switch.
Not much was shown besides a small teaser trailer. However, despite this we can deduce a few things.
Firstly, going by the visual presentation, Nintendo has opted to utilize the same engine from breath of the Zelda to create its sequel. I think many will agree that this is a smart decision as it will theoretically reduce development time of the sequel while retaining the stunning visuals.
Secondly the sequel is sporting a significantly darker tone from it’s sequel. The trailer is eerie and has subtle horror undertones which I quite like and will help distinguish itself from its predecessor. And from the look of things, Ganon may be returning in this sequel.
Lastly, Zelda has a new hairstyle. She looks amazing.
No release window was announced so it is safe to expect that it will be a wait before we can get our hands on the title.
