The curtains have been lifted, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has officially been unveiled for the Nintendo Switch. Smash Ultimate is an entirely new entry into the famed series with a development cycle spanning over 4 years.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate features changes to the core mechanics from its predecessor on the Wii U. Directional Air dodge, changes to perfect shield and dodging have been made to weaken defensive options which was previously too powerful in previous games. There are many more tweaks made to make the title feel like an unique Smash Bros.
Perhaps the biggest draw is the expansive playable roster. All fighters from the Smash universe will be included in the playable roster. Fan favorites and legacy characters such as Ice Climbers, Wolf, Young Link and Pichu will make a much welcome return to Smash Bros. Of course, new fighters will be introduced such as the previously revealed Inkling and Ridley from the Metroid series.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate launches for the Nintendo Switch on December 7.
