Pokemon Let’s Go, Pikachu/Eevee: How To Get Mew and Meltan/Melmetal

Mythical Pokemon have been a staple for Pokemon games for many generations now. With every mainline RPG iteration of the series, you could always expect a few Mythical Pokemon to obtain and Let’s Go, Pikachu/Eevee is no exception. Mythical Pokemon Meltan and Mew are obtainable, but only through specific processes.

In this article, I will guide you on how to concisely get Meltan and Mew in Pokemon Let’s Go, Pikachu/Eevee.

Meltan is the only newly introduced Pokemon in Let’s Go, Pikachu and Eeevee. It’s a strange little Pokemon, which from impressions, appears to be a metal ditto with a nut for his head. Oddly enough, Meltan wasn’t from the original 151 Pokemon of the Kanto region, which led for many to speculate (including myself) that this peculiar Pokemon will be from Generation 8.

Getting Meltan for Let’s Go, Eevee and Pikachu involves a special process that requires interactive between a Pokemon Go account and your Nintendo Switch account.

Firstly, let’s get set-up. Ensure you have reached Fuchsia City in order to access Go Park Complex. The next step is to connect your Pokemon Go on your mobile device to the Nintendo Switch. On the Pokemon Go settings, scroll down to the Nintendo Switch option to connect to the console. Likewise on Pokemon Let’s Go, go to settings and hit the Pokemon Go to connect with the app.

Once the connection has been set-up, the next step is to transfer any Kanto Pokemon from Pokemon Go to your Let’s Go game. To do this, just go to your list of Pokemon in Go and hit the Nintendo Switch icon on the top. Select your Pokemon you wish to transfer over and complete the action. To receive these Pokemon to your Switch, just go to the Poke Park Complex in Fuchsia City and speak to the clerk to complete the transfer.

Once a successful transfer has been completed, you will receive a Mystery Box in Pokemon Go. For the next 30 minutes, Meltan will appear in Pokemon Go for you to capture. Take advantage of the time-frame and catch many Meltan  as you can only perform this action every seven days. Simply transfer Meltan from Pokemon Go to Pokemon Let’s Go.

Melmetal can only be evolved from Meltan in Pokemon Go by using 400 Meltan candies. It would take a bit of grinding to collect the requited amount for the evolution, but stick with it. Once your Meltmetal in Pokemon, transfer it over to your Switch.

How to get Mew

Mew is a more little straightforward, but it is rather unfortunately that it is available under a heavy paywall. You will need to purchase Poke Ball Plus  and connect the peripheral with your game and console. Once your Poke Ball Plus is connected with your game, go to “Communication” option and receive Mew from the Poke Ball Plus Mystery gift. It will be level one and is available form any point within the game.
